OVERVIEW
An independent asset management firm headquartered in Singapore is seeking a Relationship Manager (Wealth Manager) for its Japan office to focus on servicing high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).
The company provides bespoke asset management services to HNWIs, corporate owners, and institutional investors through its Japan entity. Its core strength lies in unique alternative investment strategies, including Japan-focused strategies, U.S. renovation loans, and litigation finance. Operating under a neutral and flexible EAM (External Asset Management) model, the firm partners with major private banks and custodians to deliver truly client-centric investment solutions. By combining global insights with deep expertise in the Japanese market, the firm aims to redefine wealth management for the next generation of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide investment advisory services and propose optimal financial products tailored to individual and corporate HNW clients by leveraging the firm’s alternative investment strategies (Japan equities/debt, U.S. renovation loans, litigation funds, etc.) within a neutral and flexible EAM model.
Offer comprehensive wealth management solutions in collaboration with external experts in tax, inheritance, real estate, insurance, trusts, and business succession.
Develop long-term asset strategies based on each client’s life stage and financial goals.
Build and deepen trusted relationships with clients through personalized engagement.
Plan and manage seminars and networking events to generate leads and acquire new clients.
Stay informed on financial and economic trends and share insights internally and externally.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of sales experience serving high-net-worth clients at securities firms, banks, insurance companies, or asset management companies.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Proven experience in recommending basic financial products such as equities, bonds, mutual funds, and insurance.
Experience in marketing and selling offshore private placement funds is a plus.
Background in private banking, IFA, or EAM-related businesses is highly advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as Japanese Securities Representative, CFP, CFA, or Financial Planner.
Demonstrated success in targeting niche segments such as entrepreneurs, doctors, or executives of listed companies.
Strong business communication skills (English proficiency not required).
