OVERVIEW
Our client, an invest management company, is looking for a Trilingual (English/Japanese/Chinese) HR Business Partner in their Operation Excellence team in Singapore. 
Their main offices are in Beijing and Singapore, focused on strategic investments across Asia.
 
The Singapore office is currently hiring for a role within the Operations Excellence Team. This position is comparable to an HR Business Partner (HRBP) but goes beyond traditional HR responsibilities. It centers on organizational development aligned with investment strategies and portfolio management, offering a unique opportunity for professionals interested in the intersection of strategy and people operations.
 
The ideal candidate will have a background in strategic consulting or the financial industry, rather than traditional HR experience. This role presents an excellent next step for individuals looking to transition into a more organizational and strategic function.

 

Responsibilities

With the Japanese market expanding, there’s a growing need to support organizational development for the Japan office. This effort will be led from the Singapore office, working closely with teams in both Beijing and Japan. 

 

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for investment teams. This includes understanding the market talent landscape, mapping from relevant global and local peer funds, engaging and assessing candidates, managing the recruitment process, and discussing with the business on specific requirements.
  • Responsible for portfolio talent development portfolios in Japan, including organizational/talent development and total reward/incentive design (ESOP, co-investment, etc.) from an investor's perspective.
  • As the HRBP, shape a culture of cross-entity collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional excellence, and support team members for personal development.
  • Be responsible for building and maintaining industry networks among top global funds, executives, functional experts, sources of talents and serving as an ambassador for Hillhouse
  • Utilize market data and business knowledge to provide insights in key talent related aspects, including but not limited to organization design, talent acquisition and employer branding strategy, compensations, employee relations and career path design.
  • Partner with functional HR team to ensure effective delivery of onboarding, global mobility and employee relation issues. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with experience in top-tier consulting firms or leading financial institutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently with a high level of accountability, integrity, and honesty
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and support business goals through effective teamwork and communication.
  • A continuous learner who is humble and consistently seeks to learn new things and improve professionally
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an extroverted personality, capable of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders including global funds, executives, and industry experts.
  • Ability to operate with openness and transparency, fostering a culture of trust and cross-entity collaboration. 
  • Trilingual proficiency in English, Japanese, and Chinese is required to navigate global and local talent landscapes effectively
