Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Your New Company
Our client is an internationally active, design-driven manufacturing firm headquartered in Shanghai. The company operates a vertically integrated production facility in China and manages global sales through offices in the United States and Japan. While European sales are currently handled through external partners, the company is actively evaluating opportunities to build a direct presence in the region. The Shanghai office also serves as the central hub for product development, production oversight, and corporate operations.
Your New Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the company’s global finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO and working in close partnership with the COO, the CFO will manage financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance across all regions. You will lead a team of eight and play a key role in strengthening financial systems and internal controls in a fast-evolving business environment.
Responsibilities
Manage the preparation and consolidation of financial reports across regional entities
Lead the budgeting cycle and monitor monthly performance against targets
Coordinate statutory and group audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Provide financial reporting and insights to shareholders and executive leadership
Enhance accounting workflows and cost control mechanisms
Collaborate with manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and valuation
Develop and implement internal financial policies and governance frameworks
Work cross-functionally with ERP, sales, and production teams to align financial processes with business needs
Key Qualifications for Success
A recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent)
Strong proficiency in Chinese and English; Japanese language skills are a valuable asset
Experience in finance leadership roles within China-based manufacturing firms with international sales operations
Proven ability to improve financial systems and processes in non-listed or growth-stage companies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English
A hands-on approach with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership
Background in audit, either from a public accounting firm or internal audit leadership
Cultural awareness and interpersonal skills to effectively support a CEO and COO
