About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and manage initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, public research funding, and innovation-driven R&D. You will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic R&D programmes, managing public grant portfolios, and driving cross-sector collaborations that advance AI technologies and their applications across industries.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Programme Management
Oversee the lifecycle of public research grants—from proposal evaluation to project monitoring and reporting.
Ensure compliance with funding guidelines and alignment with national R&D priorities.
Liaise with funding agencies, research institutions, and industry partners to facilitate successful grant execution.
AI Strategy & R&D Oversight
Identify emerging AI trends and opportunities for strategic investment.
Support the development and execution of AI-related R&D programmes.
Evaluate technical proposals and provide expert input on feasibility, innovation potential, and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with academia, government agencies, and industry players.
Facilitate public-private partnerships to accelerate technology adoption and commercialization.
Represent the organization in national workgroups, forums, and strategic planning sessions.
Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and policy briefs for senior management and stakeholders.
Synthesize complex technical and strategic information into actionable insights.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
5-7+ years of experience in managing public research grants, preferably in a government or research agency setting.
Strong understanding of AI technologies, applications, and R&D processes.
Proven track record in programme or project management within the research or innovation ecosystem.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
