The PMO role offers an opportunity to support IT project coordination within a global technology services environment. The position covers project documentation, reporting, cross-border coordination with Japan-based teams, and support for end-to-end project activities in accordance with internal project governance standards.
Responsibilities
Provide PMO support, including preparing documentation, coordinating sessions, and assisting with reporting
Engage with Japan-based teams through email and online meetings in Japanese to support project coordination
Address project-related topics with the project manager and ensure alignment across teams
Assist in managing end-to-end project activities, including requirements, solution design, development coordination, testing, acceptance, training, rollout, and documentation, in accordance with internal project governance standards
Build a solid understanding of business needs, system architecture concepts, and solution design principles
Requirements
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 4 years of experience within IT or project-related environments
Written and spoken Japanese language proficiency to communicate effectively with Japan-based teams and stakeholders
Ability to liaise directly with Japan-based teams and address project matters with the Japanese-speaking project manager
Prior banking or financial experience is not required
Experience working in multinational teams or on cross-border projects
Previous experience in a PMO role or involvement in IT project management
Experience interpreting business workflows and creating structured documentation, such as process maps, system overviews, and configuration summaries, using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint
Understanding of banking concepts, such as loans, deposits, accounting workflows, customer information systems, and general IT processes, would be valuable
Familiarity with one or more of the following areas would be valuable: foreign exchange, money markets, derivatives such as interest rate swaps and cross-currency swaps, bonds, local payment systems, and cross-border or high-value payment platforms
