OVERVIEW

Our client is a Singapore-based hedge fund manager specializing primarily in Japanese equities. As their investment strategies and assets under management continue to expand, they are seeking an Execution Trader to join their Trading team.

The Execution Trader will partner closely with the Senior Execution Trader and the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to deliver precise, efficient, and timely trade execution. This is a high-responsibility role suited for an individual who is dependable, composed under pressure, and able to function as a trusted extension of the senior trading desk.

Responsibilities

  • Trade Execution
Execute long/short equity and futures orders across Japan and broader Asian markets, with a strong focus on best execution, minimizing slippage, and managing market impact.
  • Trade Lifecycle Oversight
Ensure accurate and timely trade entry, and work closely with Operations to support seamless post-trade processing, including same-day (T+0) trade matching.
  • Market Monitoring & Intelligence
Track real-time market conditions, liquidity dynamics, and news flow, providing actionable execution-related insights to the CIO and Senior Execution Trader.
  • Broker Engagement
Develop and maintain professional relationships with sell-side execution desks to ensure consistent service quality and optimal execution outcomes.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in trade execution. Exposure to a hedge fund or institutional trading environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of equities and futures markets. Experience or familiarity with Japanese markets is preferred.
  • A meticulous, “zero-error” mindset with the ability to follow established trading protocols independently and consistently.
  • A collaborative and supportive attitude, with a clear focus on contributing to the overall success of the fund and working closely with the CIO and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with EMS/OMS trading platforms.
  • Excellent command of English. Japanese language proficiency is an advantage, given the firm’s market focus, but is not mandatory.
