Job Title: Senior Finance Manager

About the Opportunity
A leading energy and materials conglomerate headquartered in Japan, this organization has a long-standing presence across petroleum refining, automotive lubricants, renewable energy, and resource recycling. It plays a strategic role in advancing energy infrastructure and sustainability initiatives throughout Asia. The Singapore office serves as a key regional hub, focusing on lubricant distribution, technical support, and energy trading, while partnering with industrial and automotive clients to deliver tailored solutions and market insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a finance team of 6 members, focusing on personnel development, performance evaluation, task allocation, and progress monitoring.
Foster collaboration and engagement within the team environment.
Support the recruitment and onboarding of two additional team members in the near future.
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of daily financial transactions.
Supervise the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, financial reporting, and statutory audits.
Streamline financial processes to handle increasing transaction volumes efficiently.
Oversee corporate income tax and GST matters, ensuring compliance with BEPS 2.0 reporting obligations.
Review and update transfer pricing documentation in line with evolving business models.
Evaluate and apply relevant tax incentives under Singapore tax regulations.
Organize budget planning activities, conduct variance analysis, and prepare performance reports.
Provide financial insights and support to the business, particularly the core trading operations.
Deliver regular financial reports and analysis to senior management.
Qualifications:
At least five years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
A minimum of three years in a team leadership role, preferably managing three or more team members.
Prior exposure to the energy sector or experience working in a Japanese company is beneficial but not essential.
Strong expertise in cash management, financial reporting, taxation, and management accounting.
Demonstrated ability to lead proactively, solve problems effectively, and drive process improvements.
High standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
Must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Japanese language proficiency is an advantage but not a requirement.
