OVERVIEW
Our client is a Singapore-based investment management firm specializing in Japanese equities through two complementary strategies. They employ a fundamental investment approach with a focus on mid- to small-cap companies and maintain a diversified portfolio across sectors. Their operations team plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in all post-trade processes while supporting the firm’s investment strategies.
They are seeking a motivated individual with Japanese language proficiency and a strong interest in financial markets to join their operations team as a Risk Management Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and manage fund-level risk across portfolios, ensuring compliance with internal
risk frameworks
• Perform daily risk assessments, including liquidity, volatility, and exposure analysis
• Support portfolio managers by providing timely risk reports and insights
• Implement and maintain risk control measures to safeguard fund performance
• Collaborate with fund accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting and
reconciliation
• Assist in stress testing and scenario analysis for market and liquidity risks
• Communicate effectively in Japanese with portfolio managers and relevant stakeholders
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in risk management, fund operations, or fund accounting
• Strong understanding of fund risk control, liquidity management, and volatility metrics
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) to liaise with portfolio managers
• Familiarity with hedge fund structures and regulatory requirements is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with risk systems or analytics tools preferred
