Senior Business Consultant/Project Manager (Japanese Speaking)
Company is a predictive analytics company run by world-class quantitative marketing scientists and industry-experienced data scientists.
This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced Business Consultant to oversee our commercial projects throughout Asia, from conception through to implementation. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the full project cycle, including the definition of milestones, resource planning, task allocation, mapping of dependencies, and managing timely delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
Accountability for an end to end project delivery including commercial KPIs
Leading all project stages including - contracting, scoping, and kick-off, execution and post-implementation reviews working closely with legal, business development, product, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution. Specifically:
Drive contracting phase of a new or amended project, working closely with the Legal and Business Development teams to help a contract through its approval stages
Define project scope, involving all relevant stakeholders as required (i.e. the Account Lead, CSO and the client) and ensuring commercial and technical feasibility
Create a robust governance framework for continuous monitoring and measurement of project performance, risks, dependencies and impact on timelines with both internal and client teams
Manage and lead the project team (typically three to five people) to ensure milestones, deadlines and quality standards are being met
Translate project requirements for internal technical teams and work closely with key stakeholders to implement updates and improvements as required
Building a strong relationship of trust and credibility with relevant client stakeholders both for the project and for a company. Specifically:
Regular client engagement as part of ongoing project governance and delivery to ensure transparency in committed delivery
Gain a deep understanding of the client’s business needs and pain points (as feasible) with feedback and understand their needs, requirements, and issues
Actively identify new business opportunities for the clients you are interacting with, and liaise with the Business Development team to pursue them
Build a motivating and collegiate working environment with the team aligned to our company’s core values
Willingness to undertake travel as required (approximately 75%, within the region)
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in a business discipline
Extensive experience in a Consultant or Project Management (or similar) role is required
Experience in Telecommunications, Financial Services, Retail, and Life Sciences sectors is a plus
Client management experience is required
Experience with senior stakeholder management (including the ability to liaise with to C-suite executives and building sustainable client relationships) is required
Solid leadership skills and a proven ability to build great teams is required
Proven ability to liaise with internal software development teams and translate client requirements into technical specifications is preferred
Knowledge of predictive analytics and Big Data technology is preferred, but not essential
Fluency in English is required
Full professional working proficiency in the
Japanese language
to be able to liaise with Japanese speaking clients and stakeholders is required
Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong negotiation and influencing abilities is required
