COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client, a renowned IT solutions provider affiliated with one of the top Japanese conglomerates, is looking to hire a System Engineer to join their team as part of expansion plans.
SUMMARY
Be part of a lean team in developing information systems by designing, developing, and deploying software solutions for clients mainly within (but not limited to) Logistics/ Supply Chain industries.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
<Project Support>
- Work directly with clients to define project approach, specify requirements, and review milestone progress.
- Understand client operations and business objectives.
- Build positive relationships with clients and explore additional project opportunities.
- Developing software applications (gather requirements, system designing, in-house development/manage development of offshore development IT vendors, testing/debugging, and deployment of new systems).
- Maintain and develop technical documentation.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct training to end-users for assigned systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards, policies and procedures.
<System & Operational Support>
- Provide technical support for systems-related setup, issues and queries.
- Work with the IT vendor teams for maintenance, troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system issues.
- Maintain a high level of user satisfaction with new and existing technologies.
- Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with business users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
- Occasional after office hours and weekend support is expected.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
- Strong communication skills in English in order to manage various stakeholders. Added proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese will be advantageous to liaise with respective native clients
- 2-3 years relevant experience as a System Engineer/ Analyst or Software Engineer
Good planning, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Technical skillsets preferred:
> Programming Language: ASP.NET, Java, C/C++, C#, PHP, etc (at least one)
> Database: SQL
> Logistics domain: Warehouse Management System, Electronic Data Interchange, etc
> RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
> ERP: SAP, In-house ERP systems, etc
- Knowledge and exposure to logistics and IT audit will be greatly advantageous
