About the Environmental Sustainability Leader Role:
An environmental manager is the sustainability champion for an organization, overseeing projects to reduce environmental impact and ensuring compliance with regulations. They develop and implement strategies for waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation, while also monitoring performance and educating staff on environmental best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft and execute environmental plans aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Implement an ISO 14001 environmental management system.
- Select and manage consultants for environmental projects.
- Work with government bodies to obtain permits and approvals.
- Gather and report environmental data.
- Develop and maintain environmental policies and procedures.
- Lead ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.
- Collaborate with international factories on environmental risk assessments and emergency response.
- Manage wastewater treatment and other environmental facilities.
- Manage budgets and projects for environmental installations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Oversee construction projects, ensuring safety and adherence to specifications.
- Manage industrial waste operations.
- Lead the development and review of performance appraisals.

Key Requirements:
- A degree in environmental science, pollution prevention, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental management, especially manufacturing, waste, and wastewater treatment.
- Over 5 years of leadership experience with strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively with a global team.
