Junior Equity Analyst (Japanese speaking)

OVERVIEW

Our client is a Singapore-based investment organization focused primarily on the Japanese equity market, with a long-term investment approach aimed at creating sustainable value. In addition to public market investments, the firm actively evaluates a broad range of investment opportunities across different sectors and asset classes.

As part of its continued growth, the organization is seeking an Investment Analyst to support research and analysis of Japanese listed companies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to investment decision-making through fundamental research, financial analysis, and market intelligence.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to the entire investment process, from company analysis and idea generation to investment recommendations and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental analysis of Japanese listed companies, including financial and business performance assessment

• Build and maintain financial models and valuation analyses

• Prepare investment recommendations, research reports, and presentation materials

• Monitor macroeconomic developments, capital markets, and industry trends

• Engage with investor relations teams, industry participants, and other market stakeholders to gather insights

• Attend industry conferences, seminars, and investment-related events

• Leverage data analytics and AI-enabled tools to enhance research capabilities and improve efficiency

• Monitor existing investment positions and support ongoing portfolio review activities

Requirements

Essential

• Approximately 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Equity Research

  • Asset Management

  • Investment Banking

  • Management Consulting

  • Audit or Accounting

• Strong understanding of financial statements and corporate finance concepts

• Financial modelling and valuation skills

• Business level of Japanese language proficiency, including strong reading and writing capabilities required for research and analysis

Preferred

• Experience in equity investment analysis

• Experience preparing investment memoranda, research reports, or investment recommendations

• Familiarity with AI tools, data analytics platforms, or technology-enabled research methodologies

• Business-level English communication skills

• Strong interest in Japanese equities and capital markets
