The IT Engineer - Fab Support role plays a key part in supporting and enhancing manufacturing automation applications and related system components within a high-automation precision manufacturing environment. Based in Singapore, the position combines operational support, solution development, equipment integration, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain reliable production systems and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Design, support, and continuously enhance manufacturing automation applications and related system components
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 operational support to ensure stable and reliable production system performance
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to improve system responsiveness, reliability, and overall availability
Gather business and technical requirements to develop, implement, and upgrade automation solutions, including equipment integration and control systems
Manage functional documentation, change requests, testing activities, and enhancement initiatives
Plan and deliver user training, knowledge transfer, and application support documentation
Partner with engineering, operations, and support teams to drive productivity improvements, process optimisation, and cost-reduction initiatives
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or a diploma with relevant industry experience
Experience supporting or developing manufacturing automation, equipment integration, or production systems
Proficiency in Oracle SQL and database querying
Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Exposure to manufacturing execution systems, shop floor automation, and industrial system integration would be advantageous
Familiarity with equipment communication standards and middleware technologies, such as Semiconductor Equipment Communication Standard/Generic Equipment Model and TIBCO Rendezvous, is preferred
Experience with equipment automation platforms, including ZNT PAC, would be valuable
Knowledge of fab automation project lifecycles and computer-integrated manufacturing applications, such as statistical process control, recipe management systems, and manufacturing execution systems, is highly desirable
Prior experience in a high-technology manufacturing or semiconductor environment would be advantageous
