The Technical Support & Development Specialist role offers the opportunity to provide customer-facing technical expertise within the specialty additives and plastics industry, supporting Korean-speaking customers and stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong polymer or plastics experience who can collaborate across Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams, and help translate technical solutions into commercial value.
Responsibilities
Lead Technical Customer Support:
Serve as the primary technical expert for customers, providing guidance on additive technologies and their impact on product performance and processing conditions
Act as the go-to technical advisor for both direct and indirect customers, addressing complex technical challenges and enquiries
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, becoming their trusted partner for technical support
Identify customer challenges, develop workable hypotheses, and design and execute laboratory or production-scale trials to validate solutions
Drive Customer Value and Commercial Success:
Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams to align priorities, coordinate initiatives, and accelerate project delivery and business results
Keep up to date with emerging developments in polymers, additives, and industry applications to provide relevant technical expertise
Evaluate and demonstrate the value delivered by company solutions to customers
Identify customer requirements and help translate technical benefits into tangible commercial opportunities
Support Innovation and Product Development:
Contribute actively to the global technical network by sharing knowledge, best practices, and problem-solving expertise
Partner with the New Product Development team to support customer adoption and successful commercialisation of new products
Leverage market intelligence and industry insights to identify opportunities for innovation and future growth
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a customer-facing technical support role or a technical position within the plastics industry
Hands-on expertise in polyolefins, including PP/PE production, compounding, conversion, additives, or masterbatch applications, is highly preferred
Proficiency in both Korean and English, written and spoken, is essential to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders across the Korean market
