OVERVIEW
A shipping brokerage firm headquartered in Singapore is seeking an Operations Manager to join its Tokyo office (Chiyoda-ku) during its start-up and expansion phase.This role will be responsible for shipping operations across Dry Cargo / Dry Bulk as well as tanker segments, covering freight calculations, vessel operations management, and post-fixture operational handling.
POSITION
Operations Manager (Shipping Operations)
Tokyo Office Member – Start-up / Growth Phase
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall shipping operations management
Freight and cost calculations
Monitoring and management of vessel schedules and voyage operations
Post-fixture operations, including execution after charter contracts are concluded
Coordination and communication with shipowners, cargo owners, brokers, and related parties
Operational support for Dry Cargo / Dry Bulk and tanker-related transactions
Initial response and coordination in the event of operational issues or incidents
Basic handling and confirmation of insurance-related matters (e.g. P&I), as required
Close collaboration with the Singapore headquarters and other regional offices

Previous involvement in:
Freight calculations
Voyage or vessel operations management
Shipping operations and execution
Language Skills
Ability to work in English, including communication with overseas offices and international counterparties

Location: Tokyo
Annual Salary: From JPY 4 million, negotiable depending on experience and skills
