The Senior Security Engineer role offers the opportunity to support cybersecurity assessment, solution design, and implementation initiatives within a client-facing technology services environment. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with strong technical expertise, consulting capability, and the ability to translate security risks into practical business-focused recommendations.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and gaps, and recommend practical remediation plans
Support the design, evaluation, and implementation of cybersecurity solutions such as EDR, SASE, Zero Trust, and endpoint or network security controls
Participate in proof-of-concept activities, vendor evaluations, technical workshops, and stakeholder discussions
Prepare detailed assessment reports, technical documentation, and presentation materials
Collaborate with stakeholders, internal teams, and vendors to ensure timely and successful project delivery
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve service quality
Requirements
Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security assessment, solution implementation, or cybersecurity consulting
Proven experience in security assessment, gap analysis, risk identification, and remediation planning
Experience working with stakeholders in consulting, project delivery, or advisory roles
Hands-on experience in one or more areas such as EDR, SASE, Zero Trust, endpoint security, network security, cloud security, vulnerability management, or security governance
Strong ability to evaluate cybersecurity risks and convert technical findings into practical, business-focused recommendations
Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Consultative approach with the ability to understand customer requirements and propose practical solutions
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes
Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Cato Cloud or similar SASE platforms
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, or ISO/IEC 27001
Knowledge of infrastructure and networking fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, routing, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 security, and cloud connectivity
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, CySA+, GIAC, Microsoft Security, AWS Security, Azure Security, or other vendor certifications
Japanese language proficiency or experience working with Japanese-speaking stakeholders in a regional environment
