The Director/Vice President role offers the opportunity to lead technology and architecture strategy within a growing life science technology environment. This role plays an important part in shaping the organisation’s evolution from a hardware-led product business into a software and AI-enabled platform model.
Responsibilities
Define problems and system logic, laying out challenges clearly for stakeholders
Own architecture discipline across hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI layers
Apply software development principles to hardware interfaces, making complex instrumentation feel simple and intuitive for end-users
Lead the architecture and delivery of the next-generation software platform, integrating AI capabilities into unified, workflow-level user experiences
Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Applications, Product, and Commercial teams to align architecture with constraints and commercial priorities
Requirements
More than 10 years of experience in systems architecture, platform engineering, or related disciplines
A genuine problem-first thinker, comfortable defining and structuring ambiguous challenges before reaching for a solution, rather than defaulting to familiar fixes
Experience building consumer-facing or non-expert-facing interfaces for complex technical products
